Mike Jorgenson (R – District 3) was elected to the Idaho Senate on November 7, 2004. Senator Jorgenson represents communities in Legislative District 3 in Kootenai County.
Beginning with the 60th Idaho Legislature, Senator Jorgenson will sit as vice-chairman of the Judiciary & Rules Committee as well as serve as a member on Local Government & Taxation. From these key positions, Mike Jorgenson will be able to influence income and property tax relief, illegal immigration, and corrections--all top priorities. Since beginning his service, Senator Jorgenson has represented the Senate in a variety of capacities.
Senator Jorgenson has been involved in the local community as the
- Former president of the Hayden Lake City Council;
- VP of the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene Opera board;
- Kootenai County board member - Youth Endowment Foundation;
- Congressman Otter's Kitchen Cabinet;
- Youth football coach;
- District 3 Legislative Chairman;
- Boys and Girls Club of America Board of Directors
An Idaho native, Senator Jorgenson graduated from Capital High in Boise and attended Eastern Oregon University at LaGrande where he studied business and economics. His wife Cynthia and he have two children and three grandchildren. |
